At The Nest we provide an excellent childcare facility to support parents whose working commitments extend before and after the school day. 

The Nest is operated from the Cameron Building and runs 7:30am to 9:00am and 3:30pm to 5:45pm, Monday to Friday, term time only. For the morning session, children can every anytime from 7:30am onwards. Breakfast is served from 7:55am and any child requiring this must arrive at the club by 8:15am. Breakfast choices include: cereals, toast/bagels, jam, yoghurt, fruit, milk and juice. At the end of the session, staff will escort the children to their classrooms ready for the school day.

There are three options for The Nest after school provision: 

Short session: Children can attend from 3:30pm - 4:30pm. 

Long Session: Children can attend from 3:30pm - 5:45pm. This session includes a healthy snack. 

After Club Session: Children attend an after school club until 4:30pm and can then attend The Nest until 5:45pm. This session also includes a healthy snack. 

Children can be collected at any time between the start and end time of their booked session. A charge of £10.00 will be levied for late collection. 

Admissions/Booking of sessions

Only children attending Keldmarsh Primary school are eligible to attend The Nest provision. We use School Gateway for the management of The Nest. This system allows parents/carers the flexibility to book regular or ‘ad hoc’ sessions as per individual needs. Bookings are released the week before the end of each half-term and it is the parents/carers responsibility to reserve sessions for their child. 

Payment for The Nest sessions must be done at the time of booking if they are 'ad hoc' sessions. However, if it is a booking for a large number of sessions (block booking for a half term, for example) the payment can be spread across the period; in these cases, the balance must be cleared before the next half-term. Booking of sessions will not be made available to parents/caers for the following half-term until the balance from the previous half-term has been cleared in full.

Payments can also be made using Childcare vouchers. Keldmarsh Primary School is currently registered with a number of childcare voucher organisations as well as the Government Childcare Scheme. A payment plan must be agreed in advance. 

Fees are currently £5.00 for a short session/after club session and £9.00 for a long session. Fees are reviewed annually, and parents will be informed of any changes in writing.
