Charity Fundraising and Raising Awareness
As part of our school vision to help children to develop their sense of self, others and the world, we raise awareness of, and raise money for, different charities and causes across the school year.
Year 5 Fundraising
Linked to their learning in Religious Education, the Year 5 children created and ran a 'Guess the number of mini eggs in the jar' event to raise £81 for the Salvation Army. A special mention to Arrimazin D and Charlie G who raised a further £120 by fundraising in 'Genuine Gents' barbers in Beverley. In addition, children and families donated a range of clothing items to the charity.
Go Green for Cerebal Palsy
As part of cerebral palsy awareness month, we had a 'Go Green Day'. Children were invited to wear a green accessory or item of clothing along with their school uniform and we held a special assembly to learn more about cerebral palsy.
Santa Run for Dove House Hospice
To kick off Christmas at Keldmarsh this year, the children, staff and parents took part in 'The Santa Run' to support Dove House Hospice. Donning Santa hats and beards, the children ran the perimeter of the school, raising over £6,000.
Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal
On Wednesday 6th November 2024 we were joined in our assembly by veterans from the Royal British Legion to talk about their Poppy appeal and Remembrance Day. As a school, we raised £240.44 for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
Harvest Festival 2024
This year, as part of our Harvest Festival celebration, our community donated a huge amount of food to the East Yorkshire Foodbank.
Show Racism the Red Card
We supported Show Racism the Red Card - the UK's largest anti-racism charity - by wearing red on Friday 18th October 2024, raising £215 in the process.
