Languages

Language learning enables young people to express their ideas and thoughts in another language, and to understand and respond to its speakers. At Keldmarsh Priamry School we teach French to all children in Key Stage 2 via the iLanguages curriculum, which is based aorund the three pillars of language learning: phonics, grammar and vocabulary. Teaching chidlren to learn a new language supports them to broaden their communication skills and foster their understanding of people, places and cultures other than their own. The knowledge and skills taught within the languages curriculum supports the children to develop their sense of self, sense of others and sense of the world.
