Geography
At Keldmarsh Primary School, we recognise that children are naturally interested in the world around them and that the subject of geography provides an ideal means to develop their knowledge and understanding of the world they live in. The knowledge and skills taught within the curriculum support the children to develop their sense of self, sense of others and sense of the world through studying their local area and then comparing with other areas, both in the United Kingdom and the rest of the world.
Teaching will equip children with knowledge about diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments. Children will develop fieldwork skills through creating maps, conducting research, analysing data and problem solving to solve solutions. Geography lessons also encourage the children to consider contemporary issues such as sustainability, resource management, equality and diversity.
