Design and Technology

At Keldmarsh Primary School, we believe it is imperative that the children build an array of skills and expertise across the three key strands of design and technology: Cooking and Nutrition, Textiles and Construction in order to develop an understanding of technology’s impact on the world they live in. Children use their creativity and imagination to design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts. The knowledge and skills they acquire are connected across other subjects, such as computing, art, mathematics and science. The skills taught within our curriculum are transferable and are therefore vital to the children’s progression into their future lives and supports them to develop their sense of self, others and the world.
